What HP Provides

Children are assessed by a Special Educator using an assessment and teaching scale, which is based upon the normal developmental sequences of skills achieved by average children.

Prelude offers a range of programs including:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational Therapy

Note: On a consultation basis only, ongoing therapy is not provided.

Based upon the results of the assessment and Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) is developed for each child.

  • To maintain a family focused approach in all of our dealings.
  • To promote a positive, enthusiastic attitude towards what the child can achieve.
  • To provide a collaborative approach towards goal setting and programming.
  • To provide meaningful play based programs for children with special needs.
  • To provide quality written information for parents and other professionals.
  • To liaise with other services to benefit the goals for the child.
  • To respect the privacy of each individual.
  • To make transition from Hunter Prelude to another service a natural process where the families and children are supported throughout this changeover period.

To promote transitioning as a positive step forward in the progression of the individual’s life.
